Joshua Wrobbel Awarded National Merit Jerry R. Junkins Scholarship for Engineering Studies

Klein Cain Senior Joshua Wrobbel has been awarded the National Merit Jerry R. Junkins Scholarship.
Joshua is a National Merit Scholarship recipient who ranks among the top 10 students at his high school. Joshua will attend the University of Texas at Austin in the fall to study Mechanical Engineering.
“Being awarded this scholarship means the world to me because I have worked hard my entire academic career for opportunities like this,” Joshua said. “I am extremely grateful for this award and overjoyed to have earned such an honor.”
While Joshua is undoubtedly a star in the classroom, he also shines on stage. He puts just as much time and effort into his passion for theater as he does for his studies. He is a talented musician, playing the French horn in the school’s band.
Joshua is busy with many organizations when he is not performing or studying. He is the Vice President of Mu Alpha Theta, a member of Science and Spanish National Honor Societies, a Key Club member, and an Eagle Scout who has completed over 250 volunteer hours.
“Joshua is intelligent and scholarly as well as dedicated and kind. We are all so proud of Josh for being named a National Merit Scholar,” Klein Cain theater teacher Ms. Susan Kopinitz said. “He is so deserving of this honor, and we are grateful and proud to be able to call Joshua Wrobbel a future Klein Cain Alumnus.”
The Jerry R. Junkins Scholarship is Corporate Scholarship sponsored by Texas Instruments. These corporate scholarships are offered by over 100 businesses to National Merit Scholar Finalists who meet specific criteria or have majors which the sponsors wish to encourage.
“I plan to savor my time in college, pursue internship and study abroad opportunities, graduate in four years, and enter the workforce immediately afterward,” Joshua said. “My primary career goal is to earn enough as an engineer to live comfortably while making time for hobbies like acting and volunteering.”
Congratulations, Joshua, on this outstanding achievement!
